Acolo e o briză cu miresme vechi de istorie ..... ce te pătrunde prin toţi porii sufletului - fie că vrei , fie că nu vrei- şi ... rămâne acolo după ce pleci .
E acel loc din Malta pe care nu aş fi vrut să il ratez sub nici o formă .
Istoria Mdinei este , de ceva mai mult, de 4000 de ani . Aerul său e - aşa cum se spune - de oraş în afara timpului .
De-a lungul timpului a avut multe nume dar numele său medieval este - cred şi eu - cel mai potrivit : ‘Citta’ Notabile’- Oraşul Nobil .Pe atunci oraşul era locuit - ca şi acum dealtfel -de familiile de nobili ai Maltei; unii dintre ei sunt descendenţi ai nobililor Sicilieni, Spanioli care şi-ai întemeiat aici un cămin începând cu secolul al XII-lea Străzile înguste şi umbroase sunt de fapt o aliniere impresionantă de palate
Mdina este una din cele mai expresive exemple de cetăţi - împrejmuită de ziduri şi fortificaţii şi un amestec extraordinar de arhitectura medievală şi barocă
Valetta ... noua Capitală ...
Cât de nouă , aici unde istoria nu dă semne că modernul îşi va câştiga vreodată independenţa ???????
